- The Galveston County Commissioners Court will have a budget workshop at 9 a.m. Monday at 722 Moody Ave., Galveston.
- Friendswood's Investment Committee will be at 4 p.m. Monday at 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood.
- Pearland City Council will be having a special meeting at 5:45 p.m. Monday at Pearland City Hall, followed by a regular meeting. The council will have a public hearing for input on a proposed request to increase funding from a tax-increment reinvestment zone to pay for projects in Shadow Creek. A vote will also take place tonight on the same item.
- The Brazoria County Commissioners' Court meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday at 111 E. Locust St. The agenda includes accepting petitions for creating two emergency services districts in Pearland's extra-territorial jurisdiction. If accepted, residents will have to approve the districts in the November election.
- Keep Friendswood Beautiful will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood.
- The Friendswood Downtown Economic Development Corporation will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood.

- Pearland ISD trustees will have a special board meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at 1928 N. Main St., Pearland.
- Friendswood ISD will host a Mustang Voices town hall at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 402 Laurel Drive, Friendswood. This month's topic is school safety.

- FEMA mitigation specialists will be on hand at two Home Depot locations, 10111 Broadway St. and 1514 Broadway St., Pearland, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day this week through Saturday.
Transportation updates
- All northbound lanes will be closed on Hwy. 288 from County Road 58 to Mustang Bayou from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., July 23-25.
- All southbound lanes will be closed on Hwy. 288 from Mustang Bayou to American Canal from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., July 27-29.
