Maryland-based Total Wine & More will open its second Houston area location on Jan. 26 near the Baybrook Mall in Friendswood.

The 24,000-square-foot super store, which stocks fine wines, beer and spirits, is located between Dick's Sporting Goods and REI at 18740 Gulf Freeway, Friendswood, according to the company.

Total Wine & More has a selection of 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers. The store will feature a wine tasting bar, a "Brewery District" for local Texas and regional craft beers and a wine education center, which will double as free community meeting space when not being used. It also sells cigars, glassware, bar tools and other accessories.

The store will host a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. 26, featuring live music, free product tastings, giveaways and more.

Total Wine & More opened its first Houston area location at the Commons at Willowbrook in late October.

The Friendswood location will mark the chain's 12th Texas location. The company, which was founded in 1991, will have 149 stores nationwide in 20 states when the Baybrook location opens.
