The annual holiday Parade of Lights event will return to Manvel on Dec. 15.

The gist

The holiday event will take place at Manvel High School from 5-8 p.m., according to a news release.

The celebration kicks off with preparade activities, including a glow-in-the-dark tattoo station, a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus, and complimentary cookies and cocoa for the first 300 guests.

At 6 p.m. the parade will proceed down McCoy Road and will feature light displays, floats and live performances "that capture the holiday spirit," according to the release.

After the parade, the festivities will continue in the high school parking lot with another chance to take pictures with Santa, have a cup of hot cocoa and sing along with carolers. The evening will end with a tree lighting.

One more thing

Because the Parade of Lights serves as a donation location for Toys for Tots, attendees are encouraged to bring a new, non-gift-wrapped toy to donate to the organization, according to the news release.
