The Dagg Road Detention Basin and Phase 3—the final phase—of the Southbelt Detention Basin have been packaged together and are out for bid. The projects are set to break ground in spring 2020 and wrap up construction in early 2022.

Harris County Flood Control District will be hauling off material from 2811 Dixie Farm Road, Friendswood, to the Dagg Road detention basin to remove material that had been placed in a flood plain. The material will then be used for sloping on the basin.

This comes after Harris County acquired the 50-acre tract at 2811 Dixie Farm Road after an ongoing lawsuit over the property.

The projects are funded through the HCFCD 2018 bond and projected to cost $15.5 million.
