Harris County Public Health officials announced dates for its free mobile health service initiative called Wellness on Wheels.

Two-minute impact

At various dates and locations from July through December, visitors on a first-come, first-served basis can access a wide range of no-cost health services, including referrals to additional health resources. Services include:
  • Breast and cervical cancer screenings
  • Dental checkups
  • Children vaccinations
  • HIV and STI testing
  • Lead poisoning screenings
What you need to know

Pet owners are being encouraged to bring their pets for free vaccinations and microchipping, for up to two pets per household. Health officials will cap the free pet vaccinations to 50 pets, according to a July news release.

Free educational activities will also be provided for all ages including live music, face painting and raffles. Visitors can learn about programs such as food and water safety as well as topics like gun violence prevention.


The gist

Precinct 1 will be the first public stop, with an event scheduled for July 18.While remaining fall dates were announced, locations are pending.
