The Texas Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, or TCPAAA, recently recognized the organization’s Pearland chapter as "membership of the year."

The details

Texas CPAAA President Barbara Cook presented the award to Pearland CPAAA President Judy Gaudin at a July 9 award ceremony, according to a news release.

The program, which Pearland has offered since 1995, enables citizens and Pearland police officers to interact with one another and educates citizens on topics such as officer safety, patrol procedures, SWAT, narcotics, K9, the drone program and animal control, according to the city’s website.

The award recognizes the program’s building of a strong, active membership that has a sense of community and a willingness to give back to the community.

The Pearland program was recognized out of 140 CPAAA and thousands of members across Texas.
