Pearland ISD trustees to consider agreements with universities for student field experiences

Pearland ISD may serve students at Walden University and Houston Christian University for teaching programs if the board of trustees approves two affiliation agreements at its Dec. 9 meeting.

The overview

The affiliation agreements will allow PISD to serve as an approved field site for Walden University and Houston Christian University students to complete:

• Teacher preparation
• Demonstration teaching
• Principal preparation requirements

Also of note

If both agreements are approved, the term for Walden University students will be automatically renewed for four one-year terms, while Houston Christian University will have a five-year term with PISD, according to district documents.
