Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman opened a new police substation at 15813 Hwy. 249, Houston on Wednesday—the seventh substation in Precinct 4. Funding for the new office was provided by the Harris County Toll Road Authority.

Herman said the location would allow deputies to better patrol the area’s toll roads.

“The strategic importance of this location will allow constable patrols direct access to the Sam Houston and Tomball tollways, thus allowing us a mobility edge when responding to emergency calls for service for our citizens,” Herman said in a news release.

The constable’s office plans to begin construction on an eighth substation, located in the area of Cypresswood Drive and I-45, in the next few months.
