Bell's HB 136 to include career and technology education and workforce training in the mission of public education was reported favorably out of the House Public Education Committee.

Huffman voted against SB3, a bill which promotes private school choice. The majority of Senate Republicans voted in favor of the bill; it eventually passed the upper chamber in an 18-13 vote.

SB 28, which offers greater funding for the expansion of Texas ports, passed the Senate unanimously. Kolkhorst co-authored the bill. Her district includes a swath of the Texas coast.

Zerwas' HB 2 passed out of the House Appropriations Committee unanimously. The bill proposed tapping the state's Economic Stabilization Fund to settle the existing budget's shortfalls.
