From meetings to holiday closings, here are a few things to know this week in Tomball and Magnolia. 1. Tomball and Magnolia ISDs are closed this week for winter break. Both districts will resume classes Jan. 4. 2. Tomball City Council will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19. The council will consider several zoning changes and an ordinance allowing mobile food vendors. Find the complete agenda on the city's website. 3. City offices in Tomball and Magnolia will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday. 4. Harris County Commissioners Court will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, on the ninth floor of the Harris County Administration Building, 1001 Preston Ave., Houston. Find the meeting agenda on the county website. 5. The Montgomery County Animal Shelter is offering free pet adoptions for the first 500 adopters. Adoption fees for up to 500 animals have been sponsored as part of the Home for the Holidays program. As of Dec. 19, nearly 350 free adoptions remain. 6. The Tomball Farmers Market will be closed Saturday, Dec. 24, for the Christmas holiday. The year-round market is held in downtown Tomball each Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
