Several construction lane closures are expected the weekend of May 6 as crews continue work on the Hwy. 290 expansion project. Lane closures are scheduled in Cy-Fair as well as at the Loop 610/Hwy. 290 interchange.
Project J-1/J-2 (Loop 610/Hwy. 290 interchange)
- Westbound lanes on Loop 610 from Ella to T.C. Jester boulevards will have three outside lanes closed continuously from 9 p.m. May 6 through 7 p.m. May 8. Entrance and exit ramps in this area will also be closed.
- The westbound direct connector from Loop 610 to Hwy. 290 will be closed continuously from 9 p.m. May 6 to 9 p.m. May 7. To enter Hwy. 290, drivers will need to continue southbound on Loop 610, exit at Woodway/Memorial, U-turn and reenter Loop 610 northbound to Hwy. 290.
Project E (from Eldridge to Telge roads)
Utility work will be done on FM 1960.
- FM 1960 southbound from Eldridge Parkway to Wortham Boulevard will have one outside lane closed daily from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. through May 18.
Project C-1 (from Mueschke to Mason roads)
The contractor will be working on the new eastbound frontage road.
- Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage roads at Mueschke will be closed continuously from 9 p.m. May 6 to 5 a.m. May 9. The Hwy. 290 eastbound exit ramp at Mueschke will remain open with access at the U-turn. Drivers traveling southbound on Mueschke will need to detour to the Hwy. 290 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Mason Road to the eastbound frontage road and enter main lanes. Hwy. 290 eastbound drivers traveling to Cypress Rose Hill, Fry and Spring Cypress roads should exit at Skinner Road and U-turn back to their desired destination.
