1. Grand Parkway Segment G
The Texas Department of Transportation completed Segment G of the Grand Parkway in late March. The new segment connected I-45 to Hwy. 59. Segments F-1 and F-2 of the toll road opened to drivers in early February and connects Hwy. 290 in Cypress to I-45 south of The Woodlands. Segment G was delayed until the spring because of weather conditions in 2015. Also known as the Greater Houston area’s third loop, the Grand Parkway is a toll road that will span nearly 200 miles and traverses several counties.Timeline: July 2013-March 2016 Cost: $1.2 billion Funding sources: TxDOT
2. FM 1774 overpass at FM 1488
The project will construct a nearly 1-mile flyover to connect FM 1774 over the railroad tracks at FM 1488 and remove the extra left turn at the intersection. Drivers heading across FM 1488 will use the regular mainlanes over the railroad tracks. The project will be sent out for bid in June and construction is expected to begin in August.

The Woodlands Road Utility District has designed a bridge for Kuykendahl Road at Spring Creek, which will expand the road from two to four lanes. Montgomery County has approved the agreement for WRUD to manage the project. Approval from Harris County is pending. Harris County estimates that once a contractor has been selected, construction will take 12-18 months.

4. Egypt Lane widening
The project will widen a half-mile stretch from Research Forest Drive to FM 1488 from two to four lanes with a center-turn lane and will install a storm sewer system to replace the existing drainage ditches.

5. Improvements at Hufsmith-Kohrville and Holderrieth roads Designs for a traffic signal and intersection improvements are being finalized by the Tomball Economic Development Corporation before they are sent to the county. Harris County expects to send the project out for bid in the fourth quarter of 2016.

6. Fagan Lane
The proposed Harris County road will create a thoroughfare between Cedar Lane and Telge Road that will run parallel to the Grand Parkway. The project is in the bid phase and is expected to be awarded in April. The project is expected to take 30 months to complete once construction begins.
