Harris County, state and federal officials announced the opening of two mobile disaster recovery centers on June 5. The centers were established in response to area flooding on Memorial Day weekend. The units, also known as mobile registration intake centers, are located at Meyerland Community Improvement Association, 4999 West Belfort Street, and Spring Woods Middle School, 9810 Neuens Road. The mobile centers are intended to provide a location for residents who suffered from the flooding to file and process paperwork in order to receive assistance, according to a press release from Harris County. Both locations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for seven days a week until further notice, the press release stated. No mobile registration intake centers have been established in Fort Bend County, but county officials said Fort Bend residents can file claims of any damage caused by the flooding online at www.fbcoem.org.
