ARTISAN SCHOOL OF DANCE

Dates: June 15–July 17
The sixth annual program gives dancers of all levels and ages the chance to learn new techniques in a children’s workshop, intermediate class or intensive class. There will be a Dance Like a Princess (or Prince) class for the youngest students this summer as well. Space is limited for all summer programs.
HINTZE DANCE CENTER

There are three summer dance program opportunities at Hintze Dance Center. The summer dance session runs for six weeks for students in preschool through pre-professional levels and the ballet intensive camp is for intermediate to advanced levels. A drill team boot camp is available as well. Registration begins April 1 for all three summer programs.
CYPRESS CREEK FACE

The Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment offers weekly dance and strings camps. The one-week dance camp allows children to learn about six styles of dance: ballet, jazz, hip-hop, Chinese, creative movement, and musical theater. Campers make a daily craft, participate in a performance and take an optional field trip on Friday. The weeklong strings camp is for violin, viola, cello and bass-playing students at Klein ISD. The program includes sectionals, technique classes and orchestra rehearsals. The camp culminates with a student performance Friday at The Centrum.
HOUSTON FAMILY ARTS CENTER

Students learn a variety of singing, dancing and acting techniques at the Houston Family Arts Center’s summer camps, which are offered for one, two or three weeks. Classes also focus on skills and production techniques. A film class will also be offered this summer to give students insight into film industry.
SIX STRINGS MUSIC ACADEMY

Campers can sign up for a two- or three-weeklong band camp in a variety of genres, such as rock band, praise and worship or country band camp. Students are taught vocals, guitar, drums, bass, piano and violin during the band camps and have the opportunity to participate in an end-of-summer performance. Six Strings also offers a strings camp that includes lessons on the violin, viola, cello and upright bass.

The CFISD before- and after-school care program offers weekly themed summer camp sessions from 6:15 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each session features a hands-on activity related to the weekly theme, arts and crafts, reading time, games and other activities. Each week also includes a variety of special activities, including field trips and dress-up days.
Spillane Middle School

CFISD hosts annual fun camps each summer featuring week-long sessions with a variety of hands-on activities. Each camp will offer a unique learning experience that will enhance summertime. Themes include: water wars, cooking, crafts, sports and trendy topics such as Angry Birds and Minecraft.
D. Bradley McWilliams YMCA

This weekly YMCA camp offers a wide range of activities, including nature walks, gym access, swimming and archery. The weekly registration cost includes one field trip per week. Houston
SPCA Critter Camp

Campers spend time with shelter dogs, cats and farm animals, and learn how to care for them while participating in animal-themed crafts, games and other activities.

Children and teenagers can learn the basics of hand and machine sewing during weekly camps at Sew Houston. Students will make projects, such as a pillow, wallet, stuffed toy, tote bag and a self-chosen project. There are both morning and afternoon sessions available.
TGR EXOTICS ZOO CAMP

All zoo camps include tours of the zoos, hands-on learning activities, animal visits in the classroom, songs, art projects, learning games and stories. Camp topics include animal costumes, animal defenses, animal senses, animals in motion and animal diets.

Carolina Creek Christian Camps are divided into two camps for younger and older children. The camp for younger children offers creek rides, a water park and outdoor activities. Older campers participate in archery, riflery, kayaking and a water zipline.
Camp Blessing Texas

Camp Blessing is a five-day camp for kids with special needs or disabilities. Each camper has his or her own counselor. Activities include archery, canoeing, arts and crafts, music, sports and water games. There is a theme party each evening. Camps last from Tuesday through Saturday.

Camp Olympia has been an active camp in Texas since 1968 and is located on Lake Livingston in Trinity. The camp offers individualized scheduling of more than 40 activities and focuses on building character and values. Children learn responsibility and cooperation while gaining independence and self-esteem.
ASICS WILLOWBROOK SPORTS COMPLEX

Sandlot Sports typically hosts a variety of baseball, softball and other recreational camps each summer. The facility in Cypress features turf and several fields on-site.
SWANSON GOLF CAMP

Cost: $150 (for three days, nine hours of instruction)
This summer camp covers all aspects of golf, including the basic fundamentals of grip, full swing motion, bunker play, putting and chipping as well as the rules and history of golf, course management and etiquette. Equipment will be provided if needed.
