With winter coming to an end, Market Street in The Woodlands will soon play host to a variety of spring and summer events. The shopping and entertainment district will feature its annual spring and summer concert series, its annual Spring Fine Arts Show, Fiesta Universal, the 40th annual South Montgomery County 4th of July Parade and more. Jenny Taylor, assistant property manager of Market Street in The Woodlands, said every year the events become more popular and provide a sense of community for residents of The Woodlands. "The overall feeling and ambience of the events is the best thing about having them in Market Street," Taylor said. "We enjoy working with the different organizations and it's fun to see the events grow." The annual Spring Fine Arts show will kick off the start to spring events on May 2, where amateur and professional artists will showcase and sell their artwork. On May 7, Fiesta Universal will take place in The Woodlands for the first time in three years. Joining with the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The event celebrates Hispanic dance, art and music. Taylor said the spring concert series, which will begin on April 23, is one of the main attractions for spring events. Providing seven musical acts, Market Street's spring concert series continues through June 4. The summer concert series runs from July 16–Aug. 20. The concerts are free and open to the public, and concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, as well as dine on the patios of the different Market Street restaurants. One of the main events for the summer is the 40th annual South Montgomery County 4th of July Parade. Taylor said while the parade has been held in The Woodlands for about 10 years, the event has grown immensely. "The first couple of years we had a couple thousand people," she said. "Now [the parade attracts] about 8,000-10,000 people. It's a great feeling." To find out more about upcoming events being held in Market Street, visit www.marketstreet-thewoodlands.com.
