Chene Interiors & Remodeling Center has been in The Woodlands for over 30 years. The business specializes in home and commercial remodeling and interior design, including flooring, painting, remodeling, carpentry, drapery, upholstery, countertops and custom cabinets.
"The owners have lived in The Woodlands for years and years," assistant Blythe Strait said. "I think they like to give back to the community where they have lived and raised their children. A lot of our customers are repeat customers that they have had for years, and there is a lot of word of mouth."
The center offers free consultations, provides samples and interior design ideas, then gives customers a priceestimate before interior design orremodeling work begins.

SPOTLIGHT: New York Smoothies
New York Smoothies relocated from within the Woodwinds Shopping Center nearly two months ago and has been serving smoothies to residents of The Woodlands community for four years.
Owner Hafiz Hosaini uses all-natural ingredients and no artificial flavors or preservatives to craft fruit and vegetable smoothies, said Moe Hosaini, Hafiz's son.
"We are different from everyone else. Other locations use artificial flavors and preservatives," Moe said. "Everything [here] is natural—that is the main thing about this store."
The store also offers healthy sandwiches and salads, which includes a post-workout customer favorite, an egg white tuna avocado sandwich that has about 40 grams of protein.
"Almost 70 percent of gym members that come here buy that sandwich because of the protein," Moe said.
