The Westin will open its fifth Houston area hotel in The Woodlands, according to The Woodlands Development Company.



The 302-room hotel will overlook The Woodlands Waterway, feature 15,000 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool, a workout studio, a business center, a 150-seat restaurant, lobby bar and a second-level pool deck that connects to the fountains at Waterway Square, according to The Woodlands Development Company.



"The Westin brand is an ideal fit for The Woodlands and will help meet the accelerating demand for high-caliber lodging in this rapidly developing area," said Allison Reid, Senior Vice President of North America Development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.



Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader for Westin Hotels & Resorts and Le Mridien Hotels, said in a statement the Westin hotel is intended to cater to business and leisure travelers.



"The Westin, The Woodlands will appeal to both business and leisure travelers seeking to recharge and revitalize with the help of the Westin brand's signature programs and amenities, designed to send them home feeling better than when they arrived," Povinelli said.



All guest rooms and suites at The Westin, The Woodlands will feature the Westin Heavenly bed, bath, shower, and robe amenities, along with the hotel's SuperFoodsRX menu.



The Howard Hughes Corporation Executive Vice President of Master Planned Communities Paul Layne said in a statement The Woodlands has a large demand for signature hotels. The hotel is to be located within The Woodlands Town Center, and will be within walking distance nearby amenities such as Waterway Square, The Woodlands Mall, Market Street, and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
