A new Walmart Neighborhood Market is under construction at the northeast corner of Falcon Landing Blvd and Westheimer Parkway in Cinco Ranch.

Walmart's Neighborhood Markets, which are an average of 38,000 square feet, are significantly smaller than its Supercenters, which average 182,000 square feet, Anne Hatfield, director of communications for Walmart said.

"A Neighborhood Market is about one-fifth the size of a Supercenter and gives our customers quick and easy access to a wide variety of affordable products," she said.

The store will contain a full selection of groceries, a deli, bakery and produce department. A drive-through pharmacy is also planned, Hatfield said.

While there are multiple Walmart Supercenters in the Katy area, this is the first Walmart Neighborhood Market.
