Emerus Community Hospital is slated to open in Tomball on Feb. 3, offering 24-hour care.

The hospital, at 24429 Hwy. 249 near Northpointe Boulevard in southern Tomball, held a ribbon cutting Jan. 22. The hospital will have eight inpatient beds, seven emergency room exam rooms and one emergency triage room.

In addition, the hospital has a radiology room, with a CT scan and an X-ray machine. The hospital also has an in-house lab.

Emerus has a separate emergency room nearby in Tomball, off Hwy. 249 that will remain open.

"We've been in Tomball for eight years," Emerus regional CEO Mike Kohler said. "We want to always grow with the community. We outgrew the space over there. This is an opportunity to reinvest what we've started. We have an innovative approach to medical care. It's been so well received by the community."

Emerus Community Hospital is convenient and smaller than a typical hospital, Kohler said.

"There's no parking garage or maze you have to walk through in the hospital to get to your family member," he said.

The hospital, which will be open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, will also have an in-house pharmacy.
