Local business owner Chad Degges has won the race for Position 3 on the Tomball City Council in a special election held Jan. 18, according to unofficial results.
Degges received 313 votes and local business owner Lori Ball, who worked as commissioner on the Tomball Charter Review Committee, received 142 votes, according to the city of Tomball.
Position 3 was previously held by Rick Brown, who vacated the seat after moving outside city limits.
Degges, who owns Houston-based Heat Transfer Specialists, Inc., is a board member of the Tomball Economic Development Corporation and serves on the Tomball City Charter Revision Commission. He previously served on the Board of Adjustments with the City of Tomball.
"I've always thought good government is no accident," said Degges, who is married and has three sons. "We are very lucky to live in Tomball where we've got a very transparent, well-run government with lots of volunteers and a professional city staff. We're lucky to have this great community. I am running to continue that."
