The city of Tomball is holding early voting Jan. 13 and Jan. 14 for a special election to fill a vacant seat on the city council.

A special election will be held Jan. 18 for Council Position 3, left vacant by Council Member Rick Brown, who resigned Nov. 18.

"[Brown] moved outside the city," said city secretary Doris Speer. "He was no longer eligible to serve."

The two candidates running for the vacant seat are Lori Ball, a quality assurance administrator who has lived in Tomball for six years, and Chad Degges, an engineer and local business owner, who has lived in Tomball for five years.

The city is holding early voting at Tomball City Hall, at 401 Market St., until 5 p.m. Jan. 13 and on Jan. 14 from 7:45 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.

On Jan. 18, voting is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 401 Market St.
