Construction has begun on Creekside Village Green, what The Woodlands Development Company is calling the centerpiece of the Creekside Park Village Center.
Village Green will be a scenic tree-lined park with a water feature surrounded by a lawn and pergolas trees, according to the Development Company. A 4,500-square-foot restaurant, which has yet to be named, will be situated on the west end of the park, while two 40,000-square-foot office/retail buildings will be located on the north and south sides.
A similar park configuration is featured at Market Street. The park is expected to be completed in the fall, according to the Development Company.
"We envision Creekside Village Green as a unique component to our eighth village shopping center," said Paul Layne, executive vice president of master-planned communities for the Howard Hughes Corporation. "The addition of a central greenspace and family friendly water feature will encourage people to enjoy the outdoors while shopping and dining."
The Creekside Village Center will be the first village center in The Woodlands to feature such an amenity. Many retail tenants for the shopping center have already been announced, with some under construction. They include H-E-B as the anchor grocer, Walgreen's drug store and Crust Pizzeria.
Creekside Village Center is located on Kuykendahl Road between Creekside Forest Drive and Creekside Green Drive.
