Two inbound main lanes and the shoulder along Hwy. 59 at Beltway 8 will be closed to traffic continuously from Sept. 28–Dec. 11 due to construction along the beltway.

The Harris County Toll Road Authority is in the process of expanding Beltway 8 between Hwy. 59 and Hwy. 288. The $118 million project will add two lanes in each direction and an additional toll plaza. The project also includes the widening of the inside shoulder and the reconstruction of the tolled entrance and exit ramps at Hwy. 59. Work on the expansion began in late 2011 and is expected to be complete in late 2013.

Several main lanes along eastbound Beltway 8 are also closed due to the expansion.
