This fall, Lone Star College is offering students more than 90 classes that finish before Thanksgiving break called "finish early" classes.

The classes allow students to compress the typical fall semester by spending more time in each class per week, according to the college. The classes provide the same amount of content as a regular semester course, but over a shortened schedule.

"In the spirit of always looking for unique ways to provide opportunities for students, we took input from our students and faculty, and designed Finish Early, a program that reduces the days of a course without reducing the hours or quality of instruction," said Dr. Lee Ann Nutt, LSC-Tomball vice president of instruction. "This way, students get to complete their studies before Thanksgiving and spend quality time with their family and friends during the holiday."

LSC is offering extended registration hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 24. The fall semester begins Aug. 26.
