Owners create family-friendly atmosphere

Owners Andy Correa and Carl Robbins have made Rooster's Sports Bar and Grill a place that brings its customers together not only through their dining experience, but also through sports.

"We wanted [to create] a family-oriented bar and grill that allowed the community to practice their sport and enjoy good food and customer service," Correa said.

After 23 years of working in Houston-area restaurants such as Ninfas, Las Mananitas, and Rosas, Correa opened Rooster's with Robbins in June 2012 as a way to give back to the community.

Rooster's is next door to The Golf Center in Fairfield, where customers can visit the golf pro shop and sign up for private lessons and memberships.

The sprawling 23-acre driving range overlooks the outdoor seating at Rooster's and together, the two businesses provide golfers a distinctive opportunity to practice on the grounds just steps away from Rooster's outdoor patio.

"Golf is a very popular sport here," Correa said. "We're located in a great community and having the golf range helps add to [the customer's] experience. We see lots of families come through here who enjoy music, food and being able to watch each other play."

Rooster's, which serves more than 1,600 people a month, offers a variety of menu options such as chicken spaghetti with chipotle cream sauce and chicken marsala. Recently, the business added award-winning barbecue recipes from Correa's cooking team, The Mad Hog Cookers, to its menu.

Since opening, Correa said Rooster's has added more dinner and appetizer options. The restaurant also features a full-service bar in which "The Andyrita", a special margarita mixed with three tequilas, is a popular drink. In addition, the restaurant hosts live music on its outdoor patio every weekend.

Although good food and customer service are a top priority for Rooster's, Correa takes pride in remaining heavily involved with the community he serves.

Rooster's frequently sponsors local sports teams and washer tournaments, and it donates catering to school events. Correa said local soccer and football teams make use of the land on the driving range for regular practices.

"We just want people to know we are here for the community to exceed their expectations," Correa said. "We are here to keep Fairfield happy and support them in any way through our parties and being involved with local teams."
