With progress being made on renovations throughout the Four Corners Shopping Center in Tomball, residents now have something else to look forward to. Premiere Cinemas, the company that owns Cinema 6 in the center, plans to reopen the theater late November with a variety of new features.

Among the new attributes will be: a wide-screen, high-definition auditorium capable of screening movies in 3-D, a new concession stand, restrooms, arcade room and renovated lobby. All auditoriums will be converted to stadium seating and Premiere will be installing high-backed rocking chairs, which it has already implemented at other locations.

"This new theater is going to be a nice amenity for the City of Tomball," said Joel Davis, a representative of Premiere Cinema Corp. "It's nice to see that this whole center is being brought to a higher level."

Other updates include a new fire protection system and the conversion of the front canopy of the shopping center into an interior space.

The theater is expected to reopen around Thanksgiving, Davis said. Ticket prices have not been determined yet, but Davis said they will remain competitive with likely a slight increase to compensate for the renovations.

"We still plan to offer the best prices in the Houston metro area," he said.

Workers recently moved into the framing phase and have begun working on the expansion of the physical building, Davis said. Over the next few weeks, plumbing will be installed, followed by new seating and the projector for the new theater.

Meanwhile, developers continue to work on exterior renovations throughout Four Corners in an effort to bring in new tenants.
