Two meetings will be held in the coming week to address questions about a proposed 12.2-mile project along FM 1960 from I-10 to Hwy. 249.
Although it is still unfunded, the project to convert the continuous left-turn lane along the roadway into a raised median is expected to cost about $33.6 million, said Deidrea Samuels, public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation.
"The raised median will allow traffic the opportunity to safely pull out of the flow of traffic to turn," she said.
During the open house meetings, maps outlining the existing and proposed section of the roadway will be available, and TxDOT staff will be available for questions.
Public input for the project will be accepted until June 14.
Meeting dates:
Tuesday, May 29 at Campbell Middle School, located at 11415 Bobcat Road.
Thursday, May 31 at Kahla Middle School, located at 16212 West Little York.
Both meetings will last from 5:30–7:30 p.m.
