To allow Tomball citizens the opportunity to pose question to candidates seeking election to Tomball City Council, the Tomball Chamber of Commerce is hosting a meet the candidates forum April 12.

"The purpose of this special panel assembly is to enlighten voters of the issues, ideas, and opinions of each individual campaign with fairness and to encourage eligible City of Tomball residents to be active voters," Tomball Chamber President Bruce Hillegeist said.

There are four candidates running for two open positions on Tomball's City Council. Jeffie Cappadonna, who serves on Tomball's tourism advisory committee, will run for Position 4 against incumbent Derek Townsend, Sr., elected May 2009. Barbara Tague, who serves on the planning and zoning commission and is the president of the Downtown Tomball Merchants Association, will run for Position 2 against incumbent Mark Stoll, who was elected June 2009.

The elections will be held May 12. Early voting beings April 30.

Sponsored by the Tomball Chamber Government and Legislative Affairs Committee, the forum will be held in the Teaching Theater at Lone Star College–Tomball Room E168 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. LSC–Tomball is located at 30555 Business 249, Tomball.
