Members of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce attended Jan. 17 the annual Installation Celebration, during which business of the year awards were announced.
Leslie Martone, who was appointed chamber president Jan. 9, also made several remarks.
"This is such a special time to celebrate this, and I am looking forward to having a bright year," she said.
Guest speaker state Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, spoke about the future of Texas and said Houston is at the seat of the economic engine that will pull the state and the U.S. forward.
Small Business of the Year: Your Community Magazine
The Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce chose Your Community Magazine as the winner of the Small Business of the Year award for Your Community Magazine goes out to more than 80,000 homes and businesses in the Northwest Houston area.
Medium Business of the Year: Energy Capital Credit Union
Energy Capital Credit Union won the Medium Business of the Year award. The company is located off Hwy. 290, just west of Jones Road.
Large Business of the Year: Texas Emergency Care Center at Cypress
The chamber awarded Texas Emergency Care Center at Cypress with the title of Large Business of the Year. The facility offers 24-hour emergency care services such as ultrasound imaging and CT scans.
Ambassador of the Year: Christi Love, Community Impact Newspaper
The chamber chose Christi Love as Ambassador of the Year due to her participation in numerous ribbon cuttings, membership luncheons and special events. Love has served as a chamber ambassador for two years.
Chairman's Award: Debbie Blackshear, Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union
President of the Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, Debbie Blackshear received this year's chairman's award for her contribution and service to the community and chamber.
