Members of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce attended Jan. 17 the annual Installation Celebration, during which business of the year awards were announced.

Leslie Martone, who was appointed chamber president Jan. 9, also made several remarks.

"This is such a special time to celebrate this, and I am looking forward to having a bright year," she said.

Guest speaker state Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, spoke about the future of Texas and said Houston is at the seat of the economic engine that will pull the state and the U.S. forward.

"America can't be strong unless Texas is strong, and Texas can't be strong if Harris County isn't strong," he said.
