Construction on a new $28 million New Caney ISD Operations Facility and a $12 million expansion of the district's existing Transportation Department Center is scheduled to begin in November, according to a May 30 email from Scott Powers, NCISD’s executive director of public relations.

Design on these projects is ongoing, and construction is slated to wrap up in January 2027, according to the email. More bus and employee parking as well as office spaces will be added to the current transportation center.
A 25,000-square-foot maintenance and operations building will also be built at the location. The facility will have offices, workshops, warehouse space, and meeting rooms.
