The new Waffle House location slated to open in New Caney is pending with Houston city officials for review, said Kelley Mattlage, the East Montgomery County Improvement District’s chief operating officer, via email Jan. 23.

Construction on the Waffle House location is expected to kick off in April, as previously reported by Community Impact. The diner will be located in the 35-acre Caney Crossing shopping center, which is operated by developer Criss Cross Commercial Group.

Waffle House boasts a menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items including waffles, omelets, hash browns, burgers, pork chops and pies, according to the company's website.
