The Highlands by Caldwell Communities, a master-planned community in Porter, has broken ground on a new amenity center dubbed “The Hideaway,” according to a Jan. 22 news release.

The details

Designed for active adults residing in the community’s 55-and-up section, Fairway Pines, the 6,500-square-foot center will feature:
  • A fitness center
  • A catering kitchen
  • Flexible event spaces
  • An expansive patio with nature views
The center will be located near hole 12 of the Highland Pines Golf Course and is set to open in the fourth quarter of this year, per the release.

Some context

The Highlands opened in fall 2021 and has since welcomed over 800 families, according to the release. The community’s 55-and-up section, Fairway Pines, includes front yard maintenance, golf course views and activities tailored toward senior residents.
