Cinco Vidas Coffee Company co-owner Stephanie Leyva said the business plans to open a new mobile coffee trailer in New Caney.
The New Caney Municipal Utility District hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Jan. 28 for the district's new administration building. New Caney MUD has been at its current location—23696 Roberts Road, New Caney—for 36 years and has since outgrown the space.
Tiny Tundra Snowcones is set to open this spring along FM 1314. The locally owned snow cone and lemonade stand offers finely shaved ice topped with classic and specialty syrups.
New plans for the East Montgomery County Improvement District’s dog park in New Caney are still pending. Originally estimated to open last summer, the project has been delayed due to changes to the original project plans.

The new Waffle House location slated to open in New Caney is pending with Houston city officials for review. Waffle House boasts a menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items including waffles, omelets, hash browns, burgers, pork chops and pies.
In the news
Tension Steel USA will no longer be opening a facility in the East Montgomery County Industrial Park. Tension Steel, a Taiwan-based company, opted not to continue its U.S. expansion.
