1. Farewell to New Caney Elementary School
With a replacement campus set to be completed this summer, former staff, alumni and families are invited to this open house celebrating the original campus.
2. Latin Heat WaveAttendees ages 21 and up are invited to head to Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures for an event featuring a DJ with nonstop Latin beats, specialty cocktails and after-hours water park access.
3. Porter Fire Department grand openingPorter Fire Department will host a grand opening celebration for the department's new station in Kingwood. PFD Station 125 is a three-bay station that hosts a full-time crew of four and houses a fire engine and an evacuation boat. The $6.5 million project wrapped up in mid-March and primarily serves neighborhoods including Kings Manor, Kings Mill, Oakhurst and Oakhurst Park.
4. Girls with HorsepowerThe Food Zone Grant Texas is holding an all-female car and bike show. Registration is required.
5. Compassion Experience 2026Attend a free family-friendly event hosted by KSBJ Studios in New Caney. Learn more about children across the globe living in poverty and how KSBJ is helping. Various activities will also be held across three days, including acoustic concerts, bounce houses, free food, animal encounters and games. Register for the event here.
