Construction contract for Lockwood Road expansion up for consideration

A project to expand Lockwood Road between Beltway 8 and the Union Pacific Corp. railroad from a two- to four-lane road could begin in March. The Harris County Engineering Department is set to ask commissioners to award Allgood Construction Company Inc. the project contract at the Feb. 11 Commissioners Court meeting.

Timeline: first quarter 2020-late 2020

Cost: $2.3 million

Funding sources: Harris County Precinct 4, McCord Development
