Harris County Precinct 2 began construction on Phase 1 of the extension of Woodlands Hills Drive near Summerwood in October.
Construction is ongoing on the expansion and extension of Lockwood and Woodland Hills drives. The road will be expanded from two to four lanes between North Lake Houston Parkway and Eagle Ridge Elementary School, where the road ends. At Eagle Ridge Elementary School a new four-lane boulevard will be constructed to Rankin Road.[/caption]The road will be widened from two lanes to four between Beltway 8 and Ridge Creek Elementary School. During Phase 2, which will begin during the second quarter of 2017, a new roadway will be constructed between Ridge Creek Elementary and Woodland Path Drive.
The $8.1 million project creates another north-south connection between FM 1960 and Beltway 8. It is expected to reduce congestion on West Lake Houston Parkway.
The project is expected to be completed before the end of 2017.
