Houston will begin repairing or replacing five sidewalks along Kingwood Drive this summer as part of the city's Safe Sidewalk Program. The five projects will be completed consecutively and cost more than $395,000 in total.

1. The city of Houston will rehabilitate about 2,100 linear feet of sidewalk on the north side of Kingwood Drive between Valley Manor Drive to just west of West Lake Houston Parkway. This stretch of sidewalk is located in front of Kingwood High School.


Timeline: Construction begins summer 2017
Cost: $150,000


2. About 3,900 linear feet of new sidewalk will be installed on the south side of Kingwood Drive between Lake Kingwood Trail and Oak Street. This stretch of sidewalk is located in front of Kingwood Country Club.


Timeline: Construction begins summer 2017
Cost: $200,000


3.  About 600 linear feet of sidewalk will be installed along the road that leads to Kingwood Country Club. The new sidewalk will be located on Lake Kingwood Trail from Kingwood Drive to Laurel Trail Drive.

4.  About 50 linear feet of the sidewalk at the median located on Kingwood Drive between Lake Kingwood Trail and Valley Manor Drive will be improved.

5.  The city will connect the existing sidewalk to the existing greenbelt trail along Kingwood Drive near High Valley Drive. The project will add 100 linear feet of sidewalk.
