The Humble Noon Lions Club marked its 40th anniversary on March 4, celebrating with a dinner on March 9, according to an email from President Bill Simpson.
Founded in 1983, the Humble Noon Lions is a nonprofit service club that partners with other organizations to provide services to the community, such as providing eyeglasses to students, serving children with special needs and sponsoring local bingo games. The club also holds events for children, such as an annual magic show, and a film festival.
Lions clubs are part of an international organization founded in 1917 with local branches all over the world. The Humble Noon Lions Club meets twice per month on the second and fourth Thursday at noon, according to the club’s website. The meetings are held at the Kingwood Library, 4400 Bens View Lane, Kingwood. 346-600-2366. www.humblenoonlions.com
