Effective Aug. 1, Kingwood Emergency Hospital will change its name to Elite Hospital Kingwood, officials announced in a news release.

Located at 23330 Hwy. 59, Kingwood, the fully licensed and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services-accredited hospital first opened in 2018 and provides the full scope of emergency services to adults and children as well as inpatient medical care and outpatient imaging and laboratory services.

"We are excited to announce the name change from Kingwood Emergency Hospital to Elite Hospital Kingwood," CEO Jeremy Brynes said in a statement. "Everything about our hospital is elite. From our beautiful facility to the physicians and staff to the care we deliver. It makes sense for our name to reflect the experience that patients have at our growing hospital."
