HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood officials appointed Darren DeSimone to serve as the Lake Houston-area health care provider’s chief nursing officer, hospital officials announced in a Feb. 16 news release.
DeSimone, who brings more than 18 years of experience to the position, joined the facility as an assistant chief nursing officer in February 2021 after working as HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe’s director of emergency medicine, officials said.
“Darren was instrumental in leading our clinical teams through the COVID-19 pandemic,” said John Corbeil, CEO of HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, in a statement. “His dedication to patient experience, quality health care and nursing engagement is demonstrated daily. His background in emergency services and acute inpatient nursing is extremely valuable to our hospital’s continuing commitment to providing the highest level of care to our community.”
DeSimone earned his nursing degree from Lone Star College and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington. He also received a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Governors University.
