Texas residents who registered to vote by Oct. 11 are eligible to vote early from Oct. 24 to Nov. 4. Voters can cast their ballot in person at one of the early voting locations listed here or vote by mail. To vote by mail, a citizen must be away from his or her county on Election Day and during early voting, be sick or disabled, be 65 years or older on Election Day or be confined in jail, but eligible to vote. If a citizen meets these qualifications, he or she can find out how to obtain a mail-in ballot.
2. Dicks Sporting Goods opens at Deerbrook Mall
Dick’s Sporting Goods held a grand opening this weekend at Deerbrook Mall after opening 10 stores in the Greater Houston area Oct. 21-23. They marked the occasion with a three-day celebration at each location. The stores are the Houston area’s first Dick’s Sporting Goods locations and will be at First Colony Mall in Sugar Land, Baybrook Mall in Friendswood,The Shoppes at Parkwest in Katy, Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Willowbrook Mall in Willowbrook and Woodlands Mall in The Woodlands
H-E-B plans to open a location in Kingwood Oct. 26.[/caption]3. H-E-B in Kingwood will reopen at Main Street Kingwood this week.
H-E-B will move from its 48,000 square-foot location in Kingwood to a 99,000 square-foot at the intersection of West Lake Houston Parkway and Kingwood Drive on Wednesday Oct. 26. In addition to traditional groceries, the store will feature The Cooking Connection demo area, an Asian fusion restaurant and the H-E-B to You which is curbside pick-up groceries for customers.
