Humble ISD’s board of trustees will see four contested races in the May 3 election that will result in at least two new faces on the board.

The details

Trustees approved an order calling for the election during the board’s Jan. 14 meeting. According to the order, elections will be held for the following positions May 3:
  • Position 1, currently held by Robert Sitton, who is not seeking re-election
  • Position 3, currently held by Chris Parker
  • Position 4, currently held by Ken Kirchhofer
  • Position 5, currently held by Martina Lemond Dixon, who is not seeking re-election

The election will result in at least two new faces on the board following Sitton and Lemond Dixon’s announcements that they would not be seeking re-election.

According to campaign filing reports, the following candidates have filed to run for Position 1:
  • Gracie De Leon
  • Oscar Silva
  • Rebecca Tribo
For Position 3, the following candidates have filed to run:
  • Natalie Carter
  • Chris Parker (incumbent)
According to campaign filing reports, the following candidates have filed to run for Position 4:
  • Brittnai Brown
  • Ken Kirchhofer (incumbent)
  • Tracy Shannon
For Position 5, the following candidates have filed to run:
  • Judy Castillo
  • Scott Ford
  • Elizabeth Shaw
While Jason Andrews also filed to run in the election, he could not be reached for comment as of press time to determine which position he will run for in the election.


Parker and Kirchhofer will be running to defend their seats for the first time. Both Parker and Kirchhofer were first elected to the board in 2021.

What’s next

The deadline to register to vote will fall on April 3, according to the Texas Secretary of State's website. Early voting will be held from April 22-29. For more information about HISD board elections, click here.
