Three Humble City Council positions will be up for election on May 3, according to the city's election website.

Among the council positions up for grabs in the May 3 election include:
  • Mayor, currently held by Norman Funderburk
  • City Council member Place 1, currently held by Charles “Andy” Curry
  • City Council member Place 2, currently held by Mike Marshall
According to the city's election website, each of the three elected officials filed for re-election on Jan. 15, the first day to file for a place on the ballot. As of Jan. 22, no challengers have filed to run against the incumbents.

Some context

The city of Humble holds a general election on the first Saturday in May each year. All positions are at-large with a two-year term and no term limits, according to the city's election website. Humble City Council is comprised of the mayor and five council members who all vote on issues.


Funderburk was initially elected as a council member in 2014 before being elected as mayor in 2021.

Curry has served two stints on Humble City Council. After being initially elected in 1999, Curry served as council member until 2011. Following a two-year hiatus, he was then reelected to City Council in 2013 and has served continuously since.

Marshall was initially elected as council member in 2023.
