Democratic incumbent Sylvia Garcia is projected to win the race for U.S. House of Representatives District 29 over Republican challenger Robert Schafranek.

With 774 of 782 precincts reporting in Harris County, Garcia has received 70,829 votes, or 71.3% of all votes, while Schafranek has received 28,505 votes, or 28.7% of the total.

The 29th District covers portions of Houston and northern, eastern and southern portions of the Greater Houston area, including Humble, Aldine, Channelview, Cloverleaf, Pasadena, Galena Park and Jacinto City.

With 11 of 782 precincts reporting in Harris County, Garcia has received 44,423 votes, or 71.94% of all votes, while Schafranek has received 17,323 votes, or 28.06% of the total.

The 29th District covers portions of Houston and northern, eastern and southern portions of the Greater Houston area, including Humble, Aldine, Channelview, Cloverleaf, Pasadena, Galena Park and Jacinto City.

Early-voting results show Democratic incumbent Sylvia Garcia taking an early lead over Republican challenger Robert Schafranek in the race for U.S. House of Representatives District 29.

According to early-voting results, Garcia received 44,084 early and absentee votes, or 71.94% of all votes, while Schafranek received 17,199 votes, or 28.06% of the total.


Garcia is a former Democratic member of the Texas Senate, representing District 6 from 2013-18, when she was elected to represent the 29th Congressional District.

Schafranek has previously run unsuccessfully to represent the 29th Congressional District in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

U.S. Congress members are elected to two-year terms. The 29th District covers portions of Houston and northern, eastern and southern portions of the Greater Houston area, including Humble, Aldine, Channelview, Cloverleaf, Pasadena, Galena Park and Jacinto City.
