In the first week back from winter break, New Caney and Humble ISDs saw relatively unchanged COVID-19 case numbers from December after students returned to school.

NCISD has 80 active cases across the district. Elementary schools continue to have the highest number at 27 cases.

Humble ISD has 1,371 active cases across all campuses as of Jan. 7. As students returned to campuses, the district offered free polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, tests through its partnership with 24 Hour Covid, a clinical laboratory.
