Large entertainment venue headed to Fall Creek in January

The venue features White Lightning Dance Hall, which includes a 2,700-square-foot dance floor and a stage to feature live music, Southern comfort food and wild-game hotdog restaurant Republic House and a barbershop called Huckleberry's. The business will also feature a cigar lounge and more than 140 different taps of craft beers. The more than 30,000-square-foot venue is projected to open in January at 9522 N. Sam Houston Parkway E., Ste. 2400, Humble.

Atascocita Eagles fall to Lake Travis in state semifinal

The Atascocita Eagles’ run in the 6A Division I playoffs came to an end with a 63-21 loss to Lake Travis Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Lake Travis advances to the championship game to face The Woodlands for the state crown.  

Litigation continues in lawsuit over new overtime law

A federal judge from the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit granted the U.S. Department of Labor’s request for expedited consideration of its appeal of a preliminary injunction against its new overtime rule. Humble ISD board of trustees meets in December

The Humble ISD board of trustees will discuss its tax refunds at a meeting Tuesday in addition to other pressing community and district needs. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Humble ISD Administration Building, 20200 Eastway Village Drive, Humble.
