Several Lake Houston-area law-enforcement entities are planning events that allow interaction with the community for National Night Out in Texas on Oct. 3.

The event, a project of the National Association of Town Watch, brings together police and communities in outdoor neighborhood activities.

“We will have all hands on deck out in our communities,” Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said.

The city of Humble's police department and the Kingwood Division of the Houston Police Department are hosting residents for an evening of food and discussion from 6-8 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., respectively.

Precinct 4 communities can sign up to participate in National Night Out at www.constablepct4.com.

Neighborhoods patrolled by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office can sign up at the HCSO website.
