Maximum Rage creates stress-smashing experiences in Humble 

Two years ago, Crystal Nwagwu found joy in a rage room filled with the sound of glass shattering. Through her own experience, Nwagwu said she realized the Humble area, where she grew up, would be an ideal place to recreate that experience for others.

“The sound of glass shattering was just really satisfying and calming to me,” Nwagwu said. “I thought, well, if I had this much fun doing something like that, I think it would be really nice for others to have the same experience.”

What's special about it?

Founded in January 2024, Maximum Rage is a family-operated rage room where people are invited to get their rage out in a healthy way or simply experience the joy of smashing objects.

With the majority of items donated by local organizations and individuals, Maximum Rage makes use of items such as glass beer bottles, TVs, electronics, printers and stereo equipment.

By giving a second life to items that would otherwise be discarded, Maximum Rage offers a unique entertainment experience for people of all walks of life.

With a wide range of customers of all ages, including customers celebrating birthdays and bachelor parties, Nwagwu said Maximum Rage can accommodate anyone, including those with disabilities.

Nwagwu said at Maximum Rage, people can expect a welcoming environment where every customer is greeted with warmth and provided with clear instructions ahead of their experience.

“We give you as much information as possible to make sure that you have a safe, fun experience,” Nwagwu said.

To ensure safety, customers are provided with helmets, gloves, boots and clear instructions on how to smash equipment, Nwagwu said.

With a variety of rage room experiences to choose from, customers can smash their stress with 10- to 45-minute sessions filled with glass, electronics and a big prop to destroy.

In addition, customers have the option of creating their own rage experience with a 15-minute room rental where customers can choose and purchase breakables from an add-on menu.

“Some people come in really excited, you know, wanting to break everything. Some people kind of come in indifferent. ... Often, it's the person that was indifferent that ends up with a smile on their face,” Nwagwu said.
