Construction is expected to begin in February and wrap up by Aug. 4 on a new BioLife plasma donation center in Humble, according to a Sept. 30 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

According to the company's website, BioLife Plasma Services has more than 220 donation centers nationwide and compensates donors for their plasma, which is then used to help patients facing serious health challenges.

To be eligible to donate plasma, donors must be at least 18 years old, weight at least 110 lbs., and go through a physical and medical screening and be determined to be in overall good health.
